Another update has emerged in the Saga of the Barcelona of Dani Olmo since 3 are emerging as favorites to ‘sign’ the player.
Olmo, 26, signed for Spanish giants RB Leipzig for £51m in the summer of 2024, according to BBC Sport.
After impressing in the triumph of Euro 2024 of Spain, he signed with Barça.

But since then, things have been simple.
Initially, the Catalan club was unable to sign the player due to the league’s salary restrictions.
But he and his teammate Pau Víctor, despite everything, were registered after several long-term injuries plagued the team. The agreement was for the first part of the season and ended at the end of the year (2024).

On December 27, BBC Sport reported that Barcelona saw an appeal for the “precautionary registration of Dani Olmo” rejected, meaning he would not be able to play for the club from January 1.
Then, on December 30, the Spanish side lodged another appeal, with BBC Sport explaining how the second appeal was lost just one day before his registration was due to expire.
According to La Liga, “none of the situations required for the adoption of the precautionary measure were present”.
But the saga has taken some twists since then. On December 31, the player’s agent spoke with the prestigious journalist Fabrizio Romano Give Me Sport.

Andy Bara has stated that his consumer “must continue at Barcelona”, explaining how Olmo “will play for Barça”, insisting that his “desire is very clear”.
However, Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo also reported that as many as nine clubs were interested in signing the player, with six Premier League and 3 Bundesliga ties linked.
Now, three front-runners have emerged. As reported by Fichajes, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City are the ‘top suitors’ ready to capitalise on Barca’s situation.

Given the fact that Olmo plays basically as a “number ten”, a movement towards Bayern can be unlikely because Jamal Musiala is the first selection of Vincent Kompany, with the nine German goals and two assists in just thirteen Bundesliga Gamessarray
Ruben Amorim would likely welcome a player of such quality, but with United not playing in the Champions League, this could prove to be an issue.
Although a move to City may be a live option, Kevin de Bruyne has struggled with injuries and lack of form, as has Phil Foden, so a move to Pep Guardiola’s side would arguably make sense if Olmo is to leave Barça. His impressive technical ability and purposeful purpose will likely suit the demands of Guardiola’s team.
