Danny Wilson has revealed that Celtic were interested in him ahead of his second spell with Rangers, admitting he doesn’t know what he would have done if the talks had been confirmed.

The former Hearts defender, who now plies his industry in the Scottish league with Queen’s Park after his stint in MLS, may well have joined a rare organisation of players to play for any of Glasgow’s clubs after admitting he spoke to agents about his departure. I ended up returning to Ibrox after leaving the club for English giants Liverpool.

He told The Scottish Sun: “There have been conversations with agents, but the timing of them was not ideal. It wasn’t anything I was interested in at the time. When I left Hearts to return to Rangers, I think there was a lot of interest in Celtic Hearts. You don’t know until you’re put in that position.

Reflecting on his time at Liverpool, he said: “It’s not the right time in my career. It’s hard to say no to a club like that. I’m not in a position to make such a big move. Not physically mature enough. ” Or mentally, to seize the opportunity. I was at Rangers from the 8th to the 18th. I don’t regret joining Liverpool, but maybe it would have worked out better later in my career. “

Speaking about gambling at Anfield, he added: “It’s one of the most productive stadiums in the UK and recognised around the world. I haven’t been back since they remodeled it. There’s the ‘This is Anfield’ sign that you played along the On the Pitch and in Kop. I’ve only played a few matches there, but it definitely feels a special feeling.
