David Templeton has revealed that Celtic will sign him moments before their talks with Rangers.
The former Hearts winger made the move to Ibrox from the Jambos under Ally McCoist but he has admitted things could have worked out differently after receiving a call from the Hoops while OUTSIDE Murray Park. The 35-year-old left Open Goal host Si Ferry shocked with his transfer revelation as he opened up on the deal that took him from Tynecastle to Ibrox.
Templeton and then-team-mate Ryan McGowan were sought through the Ibrox club, with the latter refusing to move to Glasgow. He continued to earn huge salaries in China, and his former Jambos colleague joked that he should have known this was in the works. Opening up the scenes of his move to the Rangers, he explained, “They tried to sell Ryan McGowan and me to the Rangers. We were in Murray Park. Gowser had to have figured it out until six months later. He went to China for around £20,000 a week, so he went to see Coisty to tell him he wasn’t signing.
