For 18 Florida preps football teams, it all comes down to this.

After more than 3 months of play, Florida’s best school football season comes down to state championship games.

Things get kicked off with South Florida powerhouse Chaminade-Madonna taking on Clearwater Central Catholic at 10 a.m. on Thursday in the class 1M title game. The Big Bend’s own Madison County will play primetime on Thursday night, facing class 1R defending champions Hawthrone at 8 p.m.

With all that said, let’s take a look at the schedule for this week’s title games.

All games will be streamed on Bally Sports, ticket price data can be obtained from the FHSAA website.

1M: Chaminade-Madonna (13-0) vs. Clearwater Central Catholic (13-0) 10 a. m.

What to watch: Chaminade-Madonna is not only one of the groups in the state but also in the country, holds the overall ranking time in the country via MaxPreps, and is bidding on its eighth consecutive state championship game. Led by Jeremiah Smith, the country’s most sensible rookie, the Lions are a force. Clearwater Central Catholic will have its hands full, but the Marauders have their own point guards, running back Jershaun Newton and receiver Caleb Goodloe.

3S: Continente (13-1) vs. St. Augustine (13-0) 3 p. m.

What to watch: Mainland is led offensively by dynamic running back Khamani Robinson and quarterback Dennis Murray Jr. and the Buccaneers have won four straight, scoring 153 points in that span. Augustine went undefeated and entered the names game with wide receiver Carl Jenkins Jr. and running back Devonte Lyons leading an explosive Yellow Jacket offense.

1R: Madison County (10-1) vs. Hawthorne (12-0) 8 p.m.

What to watch for: The Cowboys have an elite defense with Octavious Hodge and Kemari Scurry out, and a solid rushing offense, led by running back Ryshard Miller. The Hornets arrive with one of the most dynamic running backs in the state, Keenon Johnson. who will be one of the players Madison County’s defense has faced this season.

1S: Cardinal Mooney (11-2) vs. Trinity Catholic (6-7) 10 a. m.

What to watch: Cardinal Mooney beat North Florida’s Christian in the Class 1S semifinals and enters the game with an electric running back in Carson Beach, scoring 22 total touchdowns this season. Don’t let the record fool you, Trinity Catholic is an elite team that has a balance between its defense and offense that will provide demanding situations for the Cougars.

4M: Mandarin (11-) vs. Mandarin Columbus (12-2) p. m.

What to watch for: Mandarin is led by Florida state football quarterback Trammell Jones and wide receiver Jamie Ffrench, who make up one of the offensive duos in the state. Columbus has a forged defense led by Willis McGahee IV, who leads the team with 14 sacks.

2S: Cacao (13-1) vs. Cocoa (13-1) Branford (14-0) p. m.

What to watch: Cocoa is the protective state champion and hasn’t missed a beat this season, with an offense led by star receiver Jayvan Boggs, the Tigers are looking to get back to it. Undefeated Branford gets in the way, with an elite defense led by Chason Clark and Torin Brazell, the Tornados have a chance to slow down Cocoa.

2M: Miami Norland (14-0) vs. Berkley Prep (12-2) 10 a. m.

What to watch: Norland is led by a running back-wide duo of Isaiah Scott and Juan Rodriguez and is one of the most explosive offenses in the state of Florida. Berkeley Prep is coming off a big win over American Heritage and the runners. Joseph Troupe and Dallas Golden lead the team, scoring a total of 38 touchdowns this season.

3M: Homestead (12-1) vs. Homestead St. Thomas Aquinas (13-1) 3 p. m.

What to watch: Homestead is led by quarterback Joshua Townsend, who threw for 3,241 yards and 39 touchdowns to lead the Broncos. St’s offense. Thomas Aquinas is one of the most consistent in the state and is led by running back Jordan Lyle, who has scored 20 total touchdowns and will be a key player for the Raiders.

4S: Lakeland (11-3) vs. Venezia (12-2) p. m.

What to watch: The Dreadnoughts are coming off a thrilling one-point win over Buchholz in the state semifinals, with a forged defense that can hold off any team in the state. Venice enters the game on a 12-game winning streak and has a dynamic running back in Jamarice Wilder, who has 1,160 yards and 23 touchdowns this season.
