Defence Doherty joins Tottenham from Wolves for 15 million pounds

LONDON (AP) – Tottenham on Sunday showed the signing of Matt Doherty from Premier League rivals the Wolves.

The 28-year-old Republic of Ireland’s side has signed a four-year contract with the Spurs after making more than three hundred appearances at Molineux.

“We are very happy to announce the signing of Matt Doherty from Wolverhampton Wanderers,” Tottenham said on his official website.

Doherty moved on to the youth formula of the bohemian-looking Irish League and joined the Wolves in 2010.

He played in all Premier League games of the 2018–19 season and helped Nuno Espirito Santo win seventh consecutive position and the Europa League quarter-finals.

He joined the Spurs after the Wolves accepted an estimated offer of 15 million pounds and the third signing of Jose Mourinho of the summer following the arrivals of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart.
