(Reuters) – Arsenal reached permanent agreements with defenses Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares after their transfer periods were part of the 2019-20 campaign, the club said on Monday on their online page here.
Mari, 26, joined the Premier League in January after Flamengo, who helped win the name of Brazilian Serie A and copa Libertadores last year.
The Spanish midfielder played three times for Arsenal before his season ended with an ankle injury.
Portuguese side soares, 28, who first joined Southampton on a short-term loan, played five league games for Mikel Arteta’s appearance last season.
Arsenal has connected with Lille headquarters Gabriel Magalhaes through British media, as Arteta is looking for a more defensive striker in the league campaign, which begins on 12 September.
