Billionaire Dermot Desmond will play golf with Rory McIlroy as Celtic are in the final death throes of the move deadline.
Basketball enthusiasts have been annoyed by the window activity until now. Only Nicolas Kuhn has arrived in an already full winger department, and some are convinced that the loan of Norwich striker Adam Idah gives the quality Brendan Rodgers wants. A left-back is also targeting Thursday’s deadline, but Desmond will have his brain on other issues as well.
He is scheduled to be in California playing the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf competition alongside Ludvig Aberg. The competition is a mix of amaters and professionals, with Celtic majority shareholder Desmond featuring on Thursday and Friday in the same group as Rory McIlroy and Jeff Rhodes at the event. He will play the Spyglass Hill Golf Course on Deadline Day and then the Pebble Beach Golf Links.
Your timing will be involved in the final hours of the transfer window. It is due to strike at 16:45 GMT (08:45 PT) and is expected to finalise its circular by the Scottish deadline of 11:30 p. m.
Fans have suggested Celtic’s board raise huge monetary reserves to back Rodgers in the market. The boss is under pressure over the need for quality additions to his Celtic squad.
Desmond will sign up for a slew of star-studded names in California. NFL quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Josh Allen will be involved, as will Tom Brady.
