Offensive runner Devonta Freeman is back in the NFL and has a chance to make decent money the season.
According to a familiar with the situation, the Falcons’ former workhorse will earn up to $3 million this year with the Giants.
Atlanta cut Freeman off the off-season. It attracted the interest of groups such as Seattle and Jacksonville, but no contract was offered. The inevitable injury error in the rear position nevertheless created an opportunity.
Freeman had 656 yards in 14 games last year for Atlanta, as well as 410 yards received. He will play up to 14 games for the Giants in the position of Saquon Barkley, who will be out for the year with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Dion Lewis and Wayne Gallman point to Freeman on the intensity map.
It’s not a lot of money. If Freeman can produce as before, it’s a robbery, but his offensive line is fragile at best. This Steelers game was hard to watch.
Nice This helps Gmen win a game or two.
