DGFT reorganizes its with a new virtual platform

The Directorate-General for Foreign Trade (DGFT) is preparing to reorganize its facilities through a new virtual platform starting next week. This resolution is intended to provide exporters with the option of an online registration of singles for all profits, in particular to reduce bureaucracy and transaction time.

“In the first phase of the launch, scheduled for July 13, the online page will be displayed in a similar way to the IEC (import-export code) issuance, amendment and amendment processes. There will also be a chatbot that will respond to user requests, ” an official told BusinessLine.

Other programmes similar to popular ones will be rolled out in the following phases, such as pre-authorization and promotion of exports of capital goods and compliance with importers’ export obligations, the official added.

There are also plans to link listings to Aadhaar, which would particularly reduce the occurrence of fraud and ensure that other people who deserve it get the benefits.

The FTD resolution is consistent with the government’s overall approval effort to obtain India’s rating in the World Bank’s “Cross-Border Trade” configuration of its Doing Business report. Last month, the Central Council on Indirect and Customs Taxes (CBIC) submitted a secure shipping invoice with QR code that would be sent electronically to exporters once customs authorizes exports. The purpose of this resolution is to eliminate the requirement that exporters pass to customs officials for export evidence. India’s ranking in the World Bank’s “Easy to Do Business” cross-border industry category rose to 68 last year, coming out of 80 out of a total of 190 countries.

Ajay Sahai, Director General of the Federation of Export Organizations of India (FIEO), said: “Our members have had the opportunity to check the page online and, at most, have given very positive feedback. In the first phase, there would not be much in existing exporters because it would deal primarily with the issuance of IEC, however, as more systems are implemented, it would be incredibly useful because the online page is surely transparent. This is a big improvement over previous versions. »

Sahai stated that once everything is transferred digitally, there will be no need for paperwork, which would also involve transaction time and costs.

Access to the DGFT virtual platform (which remains dgFT’s existing website) would be through a formula based on a username and password. Users will want to link their login credentials to their express tax service. The link procedure would be after the connection through a virtual signature or an electronic signature based on Aadhaar.
