DELAWARE – The DIAA State Football Championship will no longer be held at the University of Delaware.
Dave Baylor, executive director of the DIAA, said the University of Delaware hosting football championships has too much value and that they will now talk about new accommodation sites.
Baylor spoke of Abessinio Stadium in Wilmington as an imaginable site for Class 1A and Class 2A, with Cape Henlopen, Caesar Rodney and Dover as possible venues for 3A-named games.
Several members have expressed considerations about the potential benefits in the field of name matches from some schools.
