Multiple reports have indicated that the New York Giants are leaning into letting running back Saquon Barkley lose his agency.
If that happens, the 27-year-old RB is sure to have several suitors lining up for his services and, based on his recent social media activity, there is possibly already a team that has caught his eye.
Barkley recently followed several Houston Texans offensive players on Instagram, adding quarterback C. J. Stroud, receivers Nico Collins and Tank Dell, as well as tight end Brevin Jordan, further stoking the fire of Barkley’s hypothesis in Houston.

ESPN’s Matt Bowen recently connected Barkley to the Texans, saying the AFC South defending champions would be the pick for the former No. 2 overall pick.
“With Devin Singletary entering the free-agent market, the Texans can play big here to position Barkley as a double-jeat player in Bobby Slowik’s offense,” Bowen wrote. “Think of Barkley as an outlet for C. J. Stroud, in addition to the rushed volume he would assume. Barkley averaged 98. 8 yards of scrimmage in his career with the Giants, and he would bring even more juice to one of the league’s most dynamic offenses.
While Barkley will most likely get a raise from the $10. 09 million he earned in 2023 under the franchise tag, the Texans are flush with money ($61. 05 million in cap area in 2024) and are willing to spend big on the 10 most sensible running backs he would. It would be an instant update from what they had last year on Singletary and Dameon Pierce.
Limited to 14 games this season, Barkley has 962 yards and six touchdowns on 247 carries. He also added 41 receptions, 280 yards and another 4 touchdowns through the air, completing 24th in the NFL in yards from scrimmage (1,242) and tied for 18th overall. touchdowns (10).
In six seasons, Barkley rushed for more than 1,000 yards and double-digit and triple-digit touchdowns.
