Soccer legend Diego Maradona died at the age of 60 from a center attack.
The Argentine international, winner of the 1986 World Cup, underwent brain surgery this month and reportedly “recovered well”.
Maradona, who played for Napoli, Barcelona and Boca Juniors before hanging up his booties in 1997, is by many to be the greatest footballer in football history.
The Argentine Football Federation showed that the 60-year-old died in the hospital on Wednesday (November 25).
He is said to have suffered an attack in the center of his house in Tiger.
England ex Gary Lineker said: “Argentina reports that Diego Armando Maradona is dead.
“By far the player of my generation and possibly the player of all time.
“After a blessed but troubled life, I hope that, in spite of everything, you will find some comfort in God’s hands. “
The AFA said on Twitter: “The Argentine Football Federation, through its president Claudio Tapia, expresses its deepest regret at the death of our legend, Diego Armando Maradona. You will be in our hearts. “
The former barcelona star has been photographed in recent weeks after an operation, on the road to recovery.
Maradona is widely regarded as one of the most important footballers of all time and the inspiration for the good luck of the World Cup of Argentina in Mexico in 1986.
He also took the country to the last of the 1990 tournament in Italy and took him to South Africa in 2010.
Maradona’s successes have made him a global star and a national hero in Argentina, but his career has also been marred by controversies on and off the court.
His purpose of “Hand of God” opposed England in the quarter-finals of 1986, when he threw the ball into the net with his hand, which earned him infamy: he went on to mark the “purpose of the century”, a single notable effort, in the same game.
