Donald Trump has spoken to Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence about saving the 2020 school football season

President Donald Trump spoke Tuesday with Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence about the progress of the football season.

A spokesman for Clemson University showed after Wednesday’s practice that Lawrence “spoke briefly with the president.”

“I sense they did, but I don’t know anything about those verbal exchanges,” Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said. “He didn’t express important points about any verbal exchange with me.”

Swinney left it to Trump.

“I’ll tell you who should do it, it’s the players and the coaches,” Trump said at a news convention Wednesday. “I spoke to Trevor Lawrence, the wonderful quarterback, and he’s very smart. He got it very well. He said, “Hey, I’m much safer on the court than on the court.” They gave it to him. They gave it to him very quickly.
