Donetsk Oblast Mine Loses Due to Russian Attack

A substation supplying a mine and domestic consumers was cut off from the power grid that day due to hostilities in Donetsk province.

Details: According to the Ministry of Energy, the lines and a 110 kV substation in Donetsk Oblast were cut off from the power grid, leaving a mine and household consumers without power.

Despite shelling and constant danger, some 20,000 miners are still working in the Donetsk region.

In general, the electric formula has sufficient capacity to satisfy the wishes of consumers. At the same time, the import of 4,000 MWh of advertising is planned.

During the day, a unit of the thermal power plant also shuts down, but is back in service after an hour. There are 3 sets and two buildings of the thermal power plant in reserve, in a position to connect to the grid if necessary.

Background:

A mine in Donetsk Oblast lost power following a Russian attack on 5 January. As a result, 17 mine workers were forced to spend 16 hours underground.
