DORTMUND, Germany (AP) – Brazilian striker Borussia Dortmund Reinier, on loan from Real Madrid on Wednesday.
The Bundesliga club said Reinier, 18, an under-23 Brazilian international, would give the attacking team options for the future.
Madrid signed Reinier for 30 million euros ($36 million) from Brazilian club Flamengo in January, but has made a competitive appearance for their senior team. He trained with the team and made three appearances with the Spanish champion’s affiliate, scoring two goals.
Reinier helped Flamengo win the Brazilian championship and copa Libertadores last season, the coronavirus pandemic interrupted his time in Madrid.
“We’ve been watching the child for over two years,” said Dortmund director Michael Zorc. “In addition to his exceptional technical qualities, he also enjoys a strong physical presence. After the long interruption of competitive football, we will give you time to adapt to professional football in Germany.”
Dortmund have had a fruitful date with Madrid in years. In addition, he benefited from achraf Hakimi’s two-year transfer to Madrid. The Moroccan tip has joined the Inter Milan.
