Dortmund’s Castro backs Bundesliga Foundation-backed initiative

The 28-year-old returned to Wuppertal’s on Saturday to open third place in the transfer after Berlin and Hamburg.

“Wuppertal is my hometown and MitternachtsSport is my project,” Castro said. “That two things that are so expensive for me to combine make me really happy. Regardless of our roots, faith and social class, we need to use football to help young people cope with today’s demanding situations. “

‘MitternachtsSport’ offers young people other categories of loose football on weekends with socio-educational arrangements and communicates to its participants the values of respect, tolerance and fair play.

In addition to the Bundesliga Foundation and Castro, the assignment is also supported by Jerome Boateng (FC Bayern Munich), ‘Inis Ben-Hatira (Hertha Berlin) and Manuel Schmiedebach (Hanovre 96), as well as Bundesliga clubs Hertha Berlin and Hamburger SV.

“MitternachtsSport” won the Laureus Sport Award, after receiving the 2013 BAMBI Award and the German Football Association integration award.
