Philadelphia Eagles catcher Alshon Jeffery and Malik Jackson’s defensive position agreed to restructure contracts on Monday, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Fowler noted that the Eagles face a $70 million pay deficit in 2021 and that Jeffery’s resolution will likely save them about $10 million in ceiling space.
Despite the restructuring, Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network reported that the Eagles are expected to leave Jeffery and Jackson this off-season. Restructuring their agreements only allows the Eagles to bring less cash into their books until they nevertheless separate from the two players.
