The Eagles have reopened contract negotiations with the performance of Zach Ertz, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.
After the 49ers signed George Kittle for a five-year, $75 million extension and the bosses signed Travis Kelce for a four-year, $57 million extension, Ertz gave the impression that the next final adjusted for a mega deal.
Austin Hooper first restarted the tight final market this low season by signing a four-year, $42 million contract with the Browns into a flexible agency.
Ertz, 29, signed a five-year, $42.5 million contract with $20 million in promises in a time after the 2015 season. It is the fourth highest-paid tight organization at the time, and its annual average of $8.5 million now ranks seventh.
Ertz will earn $6.66 million this season and $8.25 million in 2021.
“I’m on this top step of boys myself,” Ertz said earlier this month, through Mike Kaye of NJ.com. “At that very point with all those boys. I don’t want to be disrespectful, however, I think a lot of guys [at the NovaCare complex] feel the same way about me.”
Ertz has 356 receptions for 3,719 yards and 26 touchdowns in the last four seasons.
