Edinson Cavani in complex conversations with Benfica to end a loose move after ‘accepting’ the movement after the departure of the PSG

The 33-year-old Uruguayan striker terminated his contract at Paris Saint-Germain at the end of June.

And despite two cup finals and the 16th Champions League circular to play, he bet on a short-term overtime.

The mortal finalizer leaves the French champions with 16 primary trophies in seven dominant years and has the PSG’s most sensible goalscorer with two hundred moves in 301 appearances.

But now a loose agent, an agreement with Benfica would be practically sealed and could be announced shortly.

According to Record in Portugal, the talks failed the week with an agreement on the brink of collapse.

But those have been resolved and Cavani is expected to signal a two-year agreement.

Cavani’s half-brother and agent, Walter Guglielmone, has had talks with Benfica.

The president of the Benfica club, Luis Filipe Vieira, was allegedly provided in negotiations with the player’s representative, before the incorporation of directors.

Benfica finished the season in second place, with five numbers from Porto.

And the offer of European football turned out to have done enough to convince Cavani to sign up, to move on to Leeds, who was also very interested.

Since being given a promotion before this month, Yorkshire’s appearance has supposedly had its own discussions with Guglielmone.

Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani admitted that an agreement with his compatriot Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be “difficult,” but that he is more certain that Cavani might be tempted.

The Italian told Sky Sports Italia: “In addition to his quality, Cavani can contribute to his physique and adapt here, but I never talked about him with the coach.

“That said, we definitely have an idea about it and we’ll see it, given that it’s still available in a loose transfer.”
