The Eagles announced Friday that Willems put pen to paper on a four-year contract. Sporting director Fredi Bobic said the club is “very happy” to close the deal after a slight delay following the 23-year-old’s medical examination.
“What is that Jetro is now with us, ” said Bobic.
“He’s a very ambitious young player who will be our team. “
Ahead of his first educational consultation with the club on Saturday, the new Eintracht No. 15 explained why he chose to sign up for the DFB Cup finalist last season.
“I tried to move to a club that introduced me to smart clients and where I could play regularly,” Willems told the Eagles website.
“I’ve had a lot of discussions with control of the club and the head coach, so I have no doubt that I can take the next step in my career with Eintracht Frankfurt. “
Willems, who won the Eredivisie twice in his eight years of tenure in Eindhoven, has 12 goals and 34 assists in all competitions for the Dutch club. He won his first foreign variety complete with Holland at the age of 18, and has since visited the Oranje 21 times more.
