Week 12 is expected to produce a desirable clash between two who have inspired this season.
Sebastian Hoeneß’s Stuttgart will remain in one of the three most sensible positions in the table, with the added advantage of being able to choose from an almost full group of players this week.
He excelled by making the most of an impressive transfer window in which Serhou Guirassy joined the club permanently, Alexander Nübel joined the club on loan and Angelo Stiller was acquired permanently from Hoffenheim.
But what’s most impressive is the way the German is making his already established players from last season play, betting on the most sensible of their game.
Chris Führich, Enzo Millot, Silas, Waldemar Anton, Hiroki Ito and Atakan Karazor, to name a few, have been sensational this season. This made VfB equivalent to their start of the season since 03/04 with Felix Magath.
On the opposite bench, Die Adler and new coach Dino Toppmöller are in a transitional season after an eventful summer. During the same, former coach Oliver Glasner left the club, along with several key players Jesper Lindström and Evan N’Dicka.
And we’re not talking about what broke Eintracht’s heart: Randal Kolo Muani’s departure to Paris Saint-Germain on deadline day. The delay in the measure did not give Axel Hellmann and Markus Krösche time to find a suitable successor.
Despite the summer drama, Frankfurt have invested well and rebuilt the team with a number of quality additions. They are currently in seventh position and are unbeaten in five league games.
Toppmöller makes his team hard to beat, thanks to what some describe as a pragmatic tactical approach. The only defeat in 11 Bundesliga games suggests that it is working, as Eintracht look to remain competitive in 3 competitions this season.
As both coaches look to build on their impressive start to the season after the overseas break, Saturday night promises to be an enjoyable fixture in the atmospheric atmosphere of Frankfurt.
Eintracht Frankfurt
Frankfurt will be without summer signing Robin Koch at full-back for the clash against Stuttgart due to a muscle injury. Toppmöller said before the game that he was confident the Leeds United loanee would return to action before the end of the year.
Veteran midfielder Sebastian Rode is still sidelined due to the calf injury he suffered against Aberdeen in September. Toppmöller explained that his long absence makes it more difficult to return to full fitness.
Stuttgart
Sebastian Hoeneß has a largely intact squad of players for his stop in Frankfurt, with many of his star players returning from minor illnesses.
The Swabians have been sidelined for some time with Nikolas Nartey, who is suffering from a knee cartilage injury. Roberto Massimo is also absent due to muscle problems.
Top scorer Guirassy, after playing a full 90 minutes for the Guinea national team, is expected to return to the starting eleven after his recent absence due to a knee injury.
Eintracht Frankfurt
Trap (C); Tuta, Smolcic, Pacho; Dina Ebimbe, Larsson, Skhiri, Max; Chaïbi, Knauff; Marmou
Stuttgart
Nubel; Stenzel, Anton (c), Zagadou, Ito; Karazor, quieter; Silas, Millot, Führich; Guirassy
Omar Marmoush – Eintracht Frankfurt
Omar Marmoush was given the role of replacing Randal Kolo Muani and was tasked with betting as a striker, while historically operating from the left wing, it is possible that he will play in that position.
Egypt proved to be very astute in signing a VfL Wolfsburg free-kick, scoring six goals in the Bundesliga and ten in all competitions.
Marmoush arguably would have played a much bigger role than expected by joining the club. At just 24 years old, he has made a better transition to life at his new club.
The club will reportedly search for genuine forwards in January. However, Marmoush did exceptionally well to lead the line and stabilize the delivery in the absence of Kolo Muani, with a giant and impressive goal and assist tally.
Serhou Guirassy – VfB Stuttgart
The Bundesliga has a variety of notable strikers this season, but no one has surprised more than Stuttgart’s attacking hero Guirassy and his goalscoring exploits this campaign.
His respectable, if significantly lower, tally of 11 Bundesliga goals last season has already been surpassed by 4 after just nine appearances, as well as breaking a Bundesliga record after scoring thirteen goals in seven games.
The 27-year-old has been connected with clubs across Europe and beyond due to his excellent form, but he is undoubtedly playing the most productive football of his career under Sebastian Hoeneß in Stuttgart’s top flight.
He demonstrated his ability to finish with both feet, score with the outside of his boot, acting with delicate movements, curls and efforts.
On the other hand, he rarely misses an opportunity to show his skill when there is an opportunity to tie the ball up or kick into the opponent’s penalty area.
