Tatiana Ekogo came off the bench to make her debut for Zenit St. Petersburg in their 2-0 loss to Lokomotiv Moscow in Sunday’s Russian Super League tie in Moscow.
The star of the Indomitable Lionesses arrived last Friday at Zenit from Yenisey, Russian rival, where he played last season, playing 18 games and scoring 4 goals in his stay of one year.
Three days after her announcement, Olga Poryadina gave the Cameroonian her first attack against Lokomotiv following her brace against Yenisey in a 4-3 loss to the Moscow-based side last season.
The forward replaced Ksenia Oleksyuk in the 69th minute of the match and made a decent performance despite the defeat of her team.
After winning their first three matches this season, Lokomotiv continued to rely on their best start when Alsu Abdullina gave the hosts the lead in the 28th minute at Sapsan Arena.
Within two minutes of the resumption, Nelly Korovkina played through Marina Fedorova to double the hosts’ credit and condemn Ekogo and the girls to their third defeat of the season.
The defeat against Lokomotiv leaves Zenit in 7th position in the newspaper with one point from 4 games this season.
Ekogo expects more minutes of action when Zenit faces eighth-placed Chertanovo in front of the house enthusiasts on Thursday.
