[Editor’s Note: Spoilers from Raised through Wolves Season 1 ultimate follows].
If you’ve just seen the latest raised through Wolves, you’ll probably have, uh, some questions. HBO’s original sci-fi series Max premiered in September with strong reviews for the show’s shocking images (thanks to director Ridley Scott) and ambitious storytelling, and as the season progressed, it has become transparent that it is a sci-fi series that is not interested in becoming less bizarre. In fact, “strange” is perhaps the maximum descriptor suitable for Raised through Wolves, but in the maximum productive way. This is a story about two androids breeding young humans on an alien planet to reboot the human race; it is a tale about the consequences of devout ideals in conflict; and it’s the story of an android who has sex with a ghost on a device and gives birth to a snake that bathes.
Raised through Wolves Episode 10, titled “The Beginning,” ends the first season of the HBO series Max in an intriguing and shocking way, covering a lot of floor in no time. And although the streaming service has already revamped the series for a while. time of season, you may still have questions about what happened precisely at the end of this finale. Fortunately, Collider’s Steve Weintraub recently spoke with showrunner Aaron Guzikowski of Season 1 (and Season 2), and his interview of the curtain about some of the biggest mysteries of the finale.
But before we get to the center of the matter, let’s recap what really happened at the end of Raised through Wolves. it was put there through its author, the interface with the AR program of the crushed Mithraic ship. “When I accessed [archived memories], I activated anything that would allow me to interact with our author,” says Mother to Father (Abubakar Salim) at the end. “And while we were doing, data was uploaded to my disks, commands on how to build a new kind of being. It was as if my sensors were starting to multiply and my programming seemed almost infinite.
In fact, in this “interface,” you won’t forget that the designer told Mom that her new child was the mission, and that young humans were only “practical” to her and her father’s parenting skills. Which is an attractive twist! And then we get to, you know, the birthing scene.
Recalling the iconic scene of Ridley Scott’s alien chest, later in the finale, Mother nevertheless gives birth to the child in it to be informed that he is not a human at all. It is a lamprey figure that resembles a snake that has the ability to fly through the air as if swimming in an ocean: a set of biological and technological tissues that spits the mother’s mouth with a disturbing urgency, shows a mouth full of sharp teeth and then begins to suck mom’s belly.
Visibly horrified, the mother realizes she’s been kidnapped. It was not its author with whom he interacted in the augmented reality space. “Something else has put this in me,” mom tells my dad when they later meet and the baby snake is still tied to his belly. “As long as he’s eating, we’re safe. But it grows and I’m worried that once I’ve emptied my milk, I need blood.
Mom and Dad then jump into the air module and take it directly into the middle of the planet, where they hope to destroy the creature before it can cause harm to others, however, a laughing thing happens once they succeed in the middle of the planet. They seem to die, but are then spat at the other end and resurrected, emerging in the tropical zone whose characters have been arguing all season. The last one we see characters is the mom and father who jump out of the airstrip before him. collides, and the baby snake, which has now grown exponentially, explodes out of the vehicle and moves away.
And that’s how Season 1 ends of Raised through Wolves, not with a groan, but with an Android Snake Bathrough that turns into a monster and glides through the air on a mysterious planet, but it’s also a heartbreaking ending, as we’ve noticed The Mother evolved the first season of a robot originally created for destruction to an overprotective maternal figure looking to save her children , just to realize that she is now the mother of anything that can destroy them all. His original destructive programming hangs up again, outside of it.
You might have seen that Mom’s baby has a striking resemblance to the giant skeleton she and the youngsters discovered at the beginning of the season, and our interview, Guzikowski said it was no coincidence:
“It is this [same] breed of snakes with some differences. It’s a hybrid edition of that. Yes, there’s definitely a connection there. Definitely. . . DNA is in common. But there’s a small difference, because it comes from Mother, so it has attributes that some of the snakes that existed on the planet don’t have.
Guzikowski confirms here that these snakes existed on this planet and that any pregnant mother might be interested in seeing this express species return.
As for who is guilty of impregnating the mother in the first place, Guzikowski is naturally narrow-minded, but went into detail about how it happened:
“I can’t say that. I can tell you how. I think it was digitally impregnated while I was an inside simulation. Since it is as complex as it is, just getting commands to build something internal in itself, it is like a Y if you can get the fabrics, in this case, one of the fabrics is plasma, human blood, to build this thing, it can be done in a very different way than a human being would create a baby. create something internal herself if she won the right commands and the right fabrics.
Just before Mother gives birth to her son, we see flashbacks from an earlier era on the planet in which some kind of creature is stored in a box and loses android fluid through her nose. Guzikowski lit up what it meant and how he foreshadowed what he was going to take. place for Mom:
“Basically, when she has this dream and sees this thing and this strange kind of helmet robot head, and the fuel blood starts coming out from the front, a kind of mouthpiece in the front, what is it?There really is an internal android It’s like a labor prison. So its structure is in the decreasing pentagonal half. The top component is a helmet that passes over the android, and the android then creates a circuit in the mouthpiece. So that’s essentially what it is, that’s the kind of thing you see, that kind of omen of what’s going to take a position for her, but she can’t put it in position until the last moment, when it’s too late. “
One of the main mysteries of this first season was the planet itself. We are informed in the end that humans have existed here before, and Paul discovers cave drawings that seem to constitute occasions that happened when Mom and Dad first arrived, which were drawn. long before that, Guzikowski suggests that there is much more to reveal:
“It’s not a pristine planet as we just discovered. Here’s a civilization. And here we see photographs that recommend at some point that everything we know happened thirteen years ago, here we see represented in a cave a drawing that made several hundred years ago. And how is that possible? So I think that’s the kind of consultation that’s being done, but I can’t answer it. ‘
We are also informed in the end that humans who in the past existed in Kepler-22b have begun not to give in, and that the creatures attacking the camp are, in fact, unconcentrated humans. Guzikowski presented some tempting taunts about the history of this planet and how it would possibly even have been the cradle of humanity before its migration to Earth:
“I think one of the things we learned is that these creatures were once human beings. And one can even imagine, as far as we know, that perhaps human beings evolved here first. We don’t know. So, in fact, there is a strong connection to this position of humanity as we have come to perceive it, but you know, the concept here is also that, for some reason, anything has led those human beings to turn around and start going the other way, returning. Why would that happen?Or what is it? We don’t know. But we know that’s exactly what he did. This planet pobled through humans and, for some reason, all evolved into those more animal versions. This kind of four-legged walk, very animal creatures, absolutely devoid of everything we announce today as doing humans, humans.
It is also vital that this planet was first decided through the mitraics founded on his writings, which not only prophesied a new beginning, but also contained plans to build necromancers, as well as the coordinates of Kepler-22b. There. This connection is not an accident, Guzikowski says:
“Do we spread in Season 1 a kind of mystery in terms of where this generation comes from [for necromancers]?The mitraics discovered that those plans were essentially encrypted in their writings, which they began to build. and then they used to win the war [against the atheists], but they also forced the end of the global in the process. So we know that. We also know that it turns out that there is a link between some of this generation and what we have calculated so far in Kepler-22b ».
Speaking of planets, there is also the total thing of “flying in the middle just to get out the other end” that occurs to the mother, father and snake breeding in the air module. very other attributes of the Earth:
“You can take a look at the supernatural odds and then you can take a look at other things that might be at stake here and that would make it possible. Because we say, “Okay, it’s a planet, but what do we know about planets?”And we apply all that to this planet. But this planet is far, far from it and possibly would have attributes that our planet does not have, even though it is a Goldilock planet and on the surface, it gets back to having a lot on Earth. “
The showrunner then described Kepler-22b as a kind of “haunted house” planet, alluding to many other mysteries hidden within him:
“But it’s outside, like I said, this planet is a bit like a haunted house, and it has a lot of secrets. There are many things that happen to him, that other people who have just moved out are still not aware. So I think that’s what’s going on here? This concept they went through came from the other side. But again, I’d say it’s not like Earth in the sense that an adventure in the middle of it is obviously impossible.
So what about the tropical zone? We know that anything prevents ships from landing directly on it, but we also know that this is however everyone is looking to pass through, and is now inhabited through Mother, Father and Snake Bathrough/Monster:
“We know it’s the kind of maximum benefactor position on the planet, so everybody thinks so. This is where it turns out that anyone who is able to plant their flag and in fact claim that the tropical zone can become the dominant force. “on this planet forever. It’s like this e-book Guns, Germs and Steel on Earth and the concept of where people, by chance, end up evolving on our planet geographically and what they have there, what materials, and time, and all the things that come into play, and then thousands of years later, ended up dominating the planet for that.
And you know, those other people who come to Kepler know this very well, so they seek to claim the tropical zone, of course, the tropical zone also has this other attribute, which is the electromagnetic box that prevents someone from landing directly. in the tropical zone, which also plays in questions about other sides of the planet and the voice and things like that, and how those elements can interact with each other».
The arrival of a new consignment of atheists, taking on Travis Fimmel’s Marcus (who is now fully convinced that he is fulfilling Sol’s prophecy), replaced the game at the end of the finale. Guzikowski revealed in our interview that the shipment belongs to the Mithraics. However, the atheists stole it, noting: “He was kidnapped while under a structure on Earth, so the other people on board the shipment are atheists, but in terms of technology, it is somewhat more Mithraic.
Guzikowski is already working well in the story of Raised through Wolves Season 2, which was already commissioned through HBO Max, but the showrunner said the season of the moment would replace the venue significantly. just how this ends, but how long it will take to get there:
“If I were forced to truncate this arc, it may simply be truncated. But I hope it’s a long, intelligent five-, six-season arc for the map total that exists now. “
As long as the screen is still strange, I’ll look at it.
