England coach believes the 2014 World Cup is the best chance for Wayne Rooney to shine on the world stage

England manager Roy Hodgson believes the Brazil World Cup this summer is the best chance for Wayne Rooney to show the world how “magnificent player” he is.

Hodgson talks to the FA’s online page about Manchester United’s striker and sincerely believes that this will be the time for Rooney to prove himself on the world stage.

The England coach said, “I think with Wayne this is a wonderful opportunity this year to show, on the world stage, how charming it is.”

“I can say without too many fears about the contradiction that on the world stage, did not explode as it possibly would on our national stage, where we all settle for him as a remarkable player.”

Rooney has suffered quite a bit in foreign tournaments. He reached the level at the age of 18 at Euro 2004 and scored 4 goals before injuring himself in the quarter-finals.

At the World Cup two years later, he nearly missed the tournament before being sent off when England left the tournament disappointingly.

And at the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012, many felt that he had failed to succeed in its true potential.

Hodgson hopes his star striker would possibly not be tired after a gruving Premier League crusade and expects the 28-year-old to display the remarkable shape he has displayn all season.

“The message to him is “this is your chance,” said the experienced foreign coach.

“Yes, you’ll definitely be a little tired, but (Luis) Suarez will be too, David Luiz and some of the guys too, because they also play in the English Premier League and as you are betting each and every match.Training

“I’m ahead of the moment when he plays so well.”
