Goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba has signed a contract with Palmeiras until December 31 of this year. In a poll conducted in Gazeta Esportiva, 54. 37% of Verdão coaches voted for the club to renew the player’s contract.
Nesta temporada, Lomba foi acionado em apenas cinco jogos, oportunidades essas que o técnico Abel Ferreira poupou o time titular. Booked through Weverton, the 36-year-old joined Palmeiras at the start of 2021 and has totalled 16 appearances. In his first generation with Verdão, the player played 11 games and in the final of the year he won the extra time of the film with the team alive.
In 2022, Lomba will have a better chance of travelling thanks to Weverton’s call-up to the Seleção Brasileira.
