This is the end of the internet age as we know it. For the past decade, Every Day Should Be Saturday has played a leading role in debates about online school football, first as an independent site since 2005 and then under the umbrella of SB Nation since January 2010. The site features everything from large charitable giving campaigns. to off-season crime ratings, to discussions of such bizarre things as Knoxville’s Sunsphere, to a takedown of Craig James more effective than anyone at ESPN or Poynter has ever achieved, and even spawned its own unofficial wikiArray. And in addition to hosting many talented writers, it also attracted many regular commentators who built a network there and were able to get to know each other online and offline. But the site’s founder, Spencer Hall, announced Wednesday that his time at SB Nation, EDSBS was over. The site will remain online with the files intact, but Hall will move on to a new task. (Update: This new assignment is Banner Society, which is discussed here. Our original article is below. )
