Last July, former Celtic manager Tom Grant donated a huge bag of photo prints to Celtic Star so that we would share the percentage of Celtic’s support. Previously, Tom had given us everything he had taken in his role as stadium director, applying for Fergus McCann, to deliver his vision of a 60,000-seat stadium at Celtic Park.

These extraordinary images of the demolition of the old Celtic Park and the reconstruction from start to finish of the glorious stadium we know and love today gave the impression on The Celtic Star of the Covid year and were incredibly popular.
Tom’s last batch of photographs, which he had kept in his loft, covers Celtic Park and Barrowfield from the 1970s to the 1990s. We have now professionally scanned and digitised all of your original photographs (a total of around 800 prints) so we can get Start sharing them with Celtic media at The Celtic Star and get started today.
There are plenty of photographs of Celtic legends taken at Celtic’s base in Barrowfield, adding Danny McGrain and Kenny Dalglish, all photographs that have never been published before.
Looking at his photographs of the Celtic educational floor facilities, Tom told us that this is precisely what Barrowfield looked like when the Lisbon Lions were training there, which is remarkable when you see the state it is in!
Then there is Celtic Park and there have been many structures over the years in the ancient Holy Land. There are so many in the Jungle, for example, but we’ll save them for another day. Jobs such as installing underfloor heating for the first time, or structure. the tower between the main stand and the Rangers goal and the two-tiered turnstiles at the Rangers goal that no one remembers!The maintenance paintings in the old stadium never stopped and there are so many pictures that will bring back old memories. enthusiasts old enough to remember.
Young Celtic enthusiasts can marvel at the amenities we used to offer and enjoy!However, it has been a position we call Paradise and we still call it.
We will start with the main gate of Celtic Park and the structure and addition of the façade of the main stand of Celtic Park that we all know and love today.
