Exclusive: Portsmouth and Oxford United open talks to point out Wolves

Portsmouth and Oxford United are in talks to mark the future of the Wolves’ promising striker, Niall Ennis, said Football Insider.

The online page revealed Tuesday that the 21-year-old was in talks about a new long-term contract with Molineux and that he had been given green clearance to seal a transitional movement before the national movement deadline.

A recruiting source told Football Insider that Portsmouth and Oxford were looking to bring Ennis back to Ligue 1 this season and were in negotiations with the Wolves for a loan.

Clubs have until the close of the national window between Premier League clubs and the EFL on 16 October to finish a move.

Ennis spent the 2019/20 crusade on loan at Doncaster Rovers, where he scored six goals and scored 4 more assists in 29 appearances in the third division of English football.

He also had a transition period with Shrewsbury Town in 2017, but a serious knee injury left him after only two club appearances.

The Wolverhampton-born hitman has once played for the club from his formative years after emerging through the youth ranks at Molineux when he made his DEBUT against Shrewsbury in the FA Cup last year.

Portsmouth and Oxford are for a new centre forward after only one win for each in their first games of the season.

Ennis can simply fight Matty Taylor for a place in the look at Kassam Stadium, while John Marquis and Ellis Harrison would compete at Fratton Park.

In other Wolves news, it would possibly be revealed that an advocate has terminated his contract at Molineux with a loose agent and sealed a move elsewhere.
