Noel Whelan says Neil Lennon knows he wants “more quality and depth” on his team as Celtic approaches David Turnbull’s signature for 3.25 million pounds of Motherwell.
Former Leeds United and Aberdeen scorer, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, warned that the Hoops would do everything they could to close the deal as temporarily as possible, with the season in full swing.
Turnbull is about to complete his stint at the Glasgow Giants last summer after winning the SFWA Young Player of the Year award for the 2018/19 season.
However, he failed his medical exam due to a knee challenge that ruled him for most of last season.
The online page previously revealed that Scotland’s under-21 alien underwent a medical examination in Parkhead when he gave the finishing touches to his transfer.
Asked through Football Insider about his reaction to the imminent arrival of the central midfielder, Whelan said: “The faster they catch him through the door, the better. Each club and coach must shape their equipment as soon as possible.”
“The season already Neil Lennon realizes that they want more quality and depth.
“They tried to point him out last season and were very close to closing the deal, but it is now inevitable that he will score for Celtic.
