Barcelona aims to appoint Ronald Koeman as the new coach after the departure of Quique Setién. I worked with Koeman when he played with Barca and he as Louis van Gaal’s assistant coach, so I know the new boss very well.
In addition to being a successful player for Barcelona and a person, Koeman has learned a lot from the coaches with which he worked as an assistant. He has done a job forged in some clubs, and more recently as coach of the Holland national team, so I think he is a candidate for Barcelona.
Of course, there will be a huge duty on your shoulders and it will take time to provide your methods. Koeman has a lot to do to get the team back on the vergon of their embarrassing 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League. I hope you can achieve this as temporarily as you can imagine, but you want me to have time to rest on your methods.
There will be many adjustments in Barca this summer, with players coming and going. I would ask Koeman to make smart decisions and make Barcelona more powerful in the near future.
Messi doesn’t have to go
It’s widespread that a lot of things go through your head after an 8-2 defeat and possibly Messi would have thought of that for a while, it was time to leave Barca. But I wouldn’t take such a vital resolution without thinking about it, and all those rumors about his possible departure obviously had to destabilize the club a little more.
I’m sure he felt unhappy and hurt after that result, but he’s very grateful to the club for everything he’s done for it, and his life is rooted in the city. When he stops football, he will live in Barcelona.
I think I would take that resolution without first talking to the board of directors, after all, it is an old partnership that has been a great success over the years.
Barcelona will have to temporarily emerge from the nightmare
During this season, Barcelona had poor performances, but the defeat to Bayern was obviously the worst. At the beginning of the game, it was easy to see that they were nervous and made too many mistakes.
Even goalkeeper Ter Stegen, who is one of the team’s most reliable players, began to lack simple passes. Barca may not be able to cope with Bayern’s top press. The result is one of Barca’s worst performances in many years.

I think any player would have said the same thing on the Piqué stage because it’s a very disappointing time to lose 8-2 in a Barcelona shirt. It’s a huge club with a huge reputation.
It’s up to Koeman, however, to evaluate which players pass and which ones remain at the club. It’s going to take a little time and someone who wasn’t worried this season to make the right decisions. I think Koeman can be the right user to take care of the situation, communicate to the players and perceive which of them are committed to helping the club and which are already thinking about a new challenge.
Coutinho’s objectives do not deserve his long career in Barca
Philippe Coutinho scored two goals against Barcelona after just 20 minutes on the turf. I don’t think it’s disrespectful. Coutinho is a professional on loan at Bayern Munich with the aim of helping the Germans who ask him and that’s what he has done.
He shouldn’t be a long career at the club. Whether Coutinho tries to revive his career or move on this summer, it will all feature the new coach and the plans he has for the Brazilian star. With so many departures expected in Barca, Coutinho can even have more opportunities.
Palmeiras are in my heart
The Palmeiras will celebrate its 116th anniversary next week and I can only wish the club everything. I am very grateful for the time I spent there and feel that I am also part of the history of the club.
I spent two seasons at the club and I have a special affection for him. I can even see that my image is given in each and every one of the Palmeiras matches, which satisfies me because it shows that I did a smart task there and that the club considers me a vital component of its history.
It was a wonderful emotion and a very special moment to play in Palmeiras for two seasons and to have won the Brazilian League and the Paulista Championship. I am part of a wonderful team in 1996 and am pleased to be part of the wonderful history of Palmeiras.
