Michael Brown has asked Tottenham Hotspur to make a deal for an advocate before Monday’s deadline.
Speaking exclusively to Russell Edge, assistant editor of Football Insider, former Spurs and Manchester City midfielder believes Jose Mourinho will communicate with his team before the window closes.
Football Insider announced last week that the North London club ran for the signing of Inter Milan’s central defender Milan Skriniar.
It is understood that the club is about to settle for non-public terms with the Slovak and remains hopeful that an offer of more than 30 million pounds will be enough to tempt the Italian giants.
Asked through Football Insider if Jose Mourinho will point to a defender before October 5, Brown said, “I think he’ll try, he tried the team.
“He said it as a team puzzle the moment Joseph said it.
“I think the tension was upon them this week. He tried to get away from the cup game and find out how they would possibly not be strong enough to compete.
“He’ll be delighted, you’ve seen him run through the tunnel and that gives them a little confidence in the team.
“They also got a wonderful result in their European fit and the big question will be whether they’ll be further out with the insiders. “
He revealed that up to seven senior Spurs stars could leave the club until Monday.
The club is trying to reduce the wage bill in order to lose important money to fund more transactions.
Juan Foyth, Danny Rose, Serge Aurier, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Paulo Gazzaniga can all leave with indefinite contracts.
Meanwhile, the club is willing to loan young Ryan Sessegnon and Jack Clarke.
