Fabrizio Romano confirms Tottenham’s pursuit of £120m for Prem duo with Postecoglou precedent clear

Tottenham have already signed two impressive signings in Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall this summer, but their business is done as they aim to build a team capable of competing for trophies.

Ange Postecoglou has made signing a new winger one of his priorities for the window and, as we reported, Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze is the most sensible on his shortlist.

The 26-year-old, who was part of the England squad that reached the Euro 2024 final, will be paid £60m due to a release clause in his contract.

Eze plays as an attacking midfielder or left winger, so could compete with James Maddison, Son Heung-min, Richarlison and Manor Solomon at Tottenham.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City have all been linked with Eze in recent weeks and now-reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has reiterated that Spurs are a good offer for Eze.

“Spurs like Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace,” Romano said on his Playback Live Show.

But he is the only Premier League attacking player Postecoglou has his eyes on.

Romano goes on to say that Wolves winger Pedro Neto is included in Tottenham’s shortlist.

“With all the other characteristics of Tottenham, mentioning Pedro Neto here is surely confirmed,” Romano added.

“So Tottenham like Eze and Pedro Neto, and they have how much they need to spend in that position.

“So there’s an internal conversation, but they’ll definitely bring in one more player at that position, one more attacking player. “

Romano reveals how much money Tottenham have set aside for Eze or Neto, but both players are valued at £60m through their respective clubs and are unlikely to move.

Eze was arguably Crystal Palace’s notable player last season. He scored 11 goals and provided six assists in 31 appearances in all competitions, and this form has rightly earned him a place in the England squad.

As for Neto, he was on fire last season with seven assists and a goal in his first 10 Premier League games before injuring his hamstring.

The 24-year-old struggled to regain that form when he returned and then suffered the same injury again. He missed 23 games in total due to injury last season.

However, Neto is a more sensible player when he is in better form and it is not surprising to see big clubs like Tottenham move forward with his signing.

It will be attractive to see if Spurs will make a concrete offer for Eze or Neto in the coming days, as Romano suggests, or if they will submit offers for either player.
