INGLEWOOD, California (AP) – Golden Tate nevertheless had a chance to face Jalen Ramsey, and the non-public animosity between the two players exploded Sunday after los Angeles Rams’ 17-9 victory over the New York Giants.
The Giants’ open catcher and Rams cornerer exchanged shots near midfield after the game and had to split between teammates and coaches. Tate and Ramsey approached the end of the game and either swinged before falling to the grass.
The two have been part of a circle of family feuds since last summer. Ramsey has two children with Tate’s sister Breanna, but the couple separated while Breanna Tate was pregnant with her son at the time.
When Ramsey posted a photo on social media with her new friend last October, Golden Tate responded to a fan’s comment saying “he knows he’s going to have to see me. “
Tate told the New York Post last year that he was unhappy with Ramsey’s disrespect for his sister; however, he also did not be silent before the game. Ramsey didn’t comment on Tate and Tate isn’t made for journalists.
None of the players had it taken to comment after the game. Ramsey walked the area for 25 minutes after the game with an assistant Rams coach, perhaps to calm down or avoid some other confrontation near the team’s buses.
“Obviously, we have to do our whistling match for 60 minutes,” giants coach Joe Judge said. “I have to communicate with him. Golden’s a competitive guy. We don’t need that to happen. “
The opinion issued reported that he had spoken to Tate about the confrontation with Ramsey before the game, but did not move on to the main points of the talks.
Rams coach Sean McVay said he wasn’t what had happened.
“He shaken my hand and, you know, they hit me in the middle,” he said.
Even the players in the middle of the scrum didn’t have much to say. Giants midfielder Nick Gates, who separated coaches and teammates, said he is only looking to protect his teammates.
Tate finished with four receptions for 20 yards, put a pass on the left floor in the fourth quarter, but Ramsey hit Tate for a one-yard loss.
Ramsey signed a five-year, $105 million contract extension with the Rams before the start of the season. He’s one of the biggest talkers in the league. While coaches have praised their developing maturity, this is their post-game incident with the Rams since they got Jacksonville last year.
Ramsey and Marcus Peters yelled at each other after the Ravens beat the Rams last year. Peter switched to Baltimore after the Rams acquired Ramsey.
During his three seasons in Jacksonville, Ramsey was involved in fractures with AJ Cincinnati. Green and Tyreek Hill in Kansas City.
