BERLIN (AP) – Fans returned to the Bundesliga for the first time since the coronavirus restrictions began in March, but none of them saw their groups win the opening matches of the new season on Saturday.
No outdoor followers were allowed in the league, as strict coronavirus measures were maintained.
This meant that Arminia Bielefeld faced 6500 Eintracht Frankfurt enthusiasts and achieved a 1–1 draw on his return to first place in Germany after an 11-year absence. Midfielder Cebio Soukou scored for Bielefeld in the 51st minute, before André Silva. matched in ’62.
Some 8,000 enthusiasts were able to see Stuttgart’s return promoted against Freiburg, but the team lost 3–2 despite a past response.
Union Berlin lost 3–1 at home to Augsburg, Cologne went 3-2 at home through Hoffenheim and Hertha Berlin beat Werder Bremen 4–1.
Plans for Cologne game enthusiasts to oppose Hoffenheim have been suspended due to the buildup of coronavirus infections locally.
Former Union goalkeeper Rafal Gikiewicz helped Augsburg win against 5,000 Kopenick enthusiasts with a brilliant reflex stop to save Cedric Teuchert from the overdue draw before André Hahn sealed the visitors’ victory.
Gikiewicz had won a welcome before kick-off and enthusiasts applauded his new goalkeeper, Andreas Luthe, who made the substitution in the opposite direction.
Rubén Vargas scored with Augsburg’s first at 41.
Former German forward Max Kruse reached 71 in his Union deyet, but it was another striker, Marius Belter, who nevertheless tied in ’74, completing a christopher Lenz level center.
He almost returned to his position a few minutes later and then won a corner when the look of the house advanced for more.
But Michael Gregoritsch scored against Augsburg’s streak at 82, and Gikiewicz’s stop denied his former team.
Borussia Dortmund will receive Borussia Monchengladbach later on Saturday.
Bayern Munich, eight-time protection champion, league with an 8-0 defeat to Schalke on Friday without amateurs.
