Fantastic Football Roundtable: NFL B/R answers hot fantasy questions

We’re less than a month away from the inaugural game of the 2020 NFL season. If it were a general year, the preseason would have started now, but of course 2020 something still general.

However, with ongoing education camps, he has injected at least some normalcy into the football landscape, adding the annual exercise of religion and frustration that is the football draft season.

Given the uncertainty that groups face as a result of this truncated low season, fantasy writers face more questions than ever before. What will the lack of education and pre-season time be like the fantastic price of recruits and veterans? Which first-year open receiver will outperform the crowd? Which emergency balloon carrier is this season’s fantastic must-have wife?

To answer those questions (and many others), we brought together NFL editors in combination in the Bleacher Report for the 2020 football roundtable.

Here’s what this esteem had to say.

Gary Davenport, NFL analyst

There are some veteran runners with rebound in 2020, but I’ll move on to Todd Gurley of the Atlanta Falcons. Just two years later, Gurley passed 1,800 yards from the scrum, scored 21 touchdowns overall and finished third in PPR’s fantasy problems among midfields.

His hesitant knee is a genuine concern, however, the Falcons have little on the intensity card and a hard pass attack that deserve to prevent the conflicting parties from stacking the box.

If Gurley can stay in the field, the workload will be there, and a more sensible 10 is not ruled out.

Tyler Dunne, senior editor of the NFL

David Johnson of the Houston Texans. The Texans will use it in every single way, and Johnson is hungry. He’s been here before, and he’s more motivated than ever to stick to bluechecks, as he calls them, on Twitter. There’s at least another smart season there.

Brad Gagnon, NFL analyst

I’m going to shoot the bucket with Le’Veon Bell of the New York Jets, who has so much and has had promising returns this summer.

Matt Miller, NFL Draft Editor

I’m staying away from Todd Gurley this year, but I’m not sleeping with David Johnson with the Houston Texans. This team rushed more than 1,000 yards to Carlos Hyde last season, and we know Johnson can have a catcher effect.

Brent Sobleski, NFL analyst

Kareem Hunt of the Cleveland Browns. The Browns will now have a strong zone attack, with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt leading the road. Hunt was the most productive runner in the league in his rookie crusade in 2017, and will not return to that state.

However, it will be a favorable option in the PPR leagues as the Browns will look to use it as Chubb’s number one backup and as an open receiver in some subpackages.

Sofa

Jalen Reagor of the Philadelphia Eagles would probably not be the top-talented band in the 2020 class. He didn’t land on a dream stage like CeeDee Lamb’s Dallas Cowboys. But given the unhappy state of the open catcher intensity chart in Philadelphia, if Reagor is a quick study, it can also lead all Eagles catchers to goals in 2020.

He is not the first recruit he would take in a dynasty, however, it is a shrewd selection to reign ideally among first-year receivers.

Dunne

Henry Ruggs III of Las Vegas. The Raiders want a weapon in the worst way imaginable for quarterback Derek Carr, and Ruggs, who is perhaps the fastest player of all the games he plays, can be used in many ways. It’s built for today’s NFL.

Gagnon

CeeDee Lamb. Dallas’ offense is packed, but that means Lamb can go unnoticed with defenses connected to Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper.

Meunier

CeeDee Lamb and Jerry Jeudy are part of a broad receiver body, so I can’t vote for them even though I love their games. This is Henry Ruggs III and the high speed he will bring to head coach Jon Gruden and Derek Carr in Las Vegas. This offense sought top speed last year and turned on Antonio Brown. They now have a reliable speed on Ruggs (4.27 40-yard board).

Sobleski

Michael Pittman Jr. of the Indianapolis Colts. T.Y. Hilton will most likely continue as the WR1 of the Indianapolis Colts, but Pittman brings another dynamic to the offense, especially with Philip Rivers now in the center. The 6’4″ and 223-pound Pittman is a physical target on the outside, with a frame length and a main risk downstream and in the red zone.

The Colts are an imaginable playoff team and Pittman is a great component of the equation.

Sofa

You can argue in favor of those 3 tight endings. But Darren Waller may have difficulty registering another 90 receptions given the raider’s offshore receiver improvements. And Mark Andrews’ escape to Baltimore last year was largely due to his ability to locate the finish zone.

That leaves Ertz, who has scored more problems than Andrews in PPR formats in 2019 despite injuries at the end of the season. Ertz scored 18 more goals than Waller and nearly 40 more than Andrews, and there’s no explanation why that probably wouldn’t be the case this season.

Dunne

Mr. Ertz. It’s still Carson Wentz’s number one weapon, and I’d agree as true with head coach Doug Pederson to keep innovating there. The Eagles will locate tactics to keep him giving him the ball.

Gagnon

Ertz: His paintings are more reliable. The other two boys have to prove that the big campaigns of 2019 were not aberrations.

Meunier

Mr. Ertz. Mr. Ertz. Mr. Ertz. Don’t think about it too much. The Eagles do NOT have an open receiver threat, as Carson Wentz likes his closed side. Ertz is the Eagles’ primary target in the air game and you will see the valid TE3 league stats.

Sobleski

Mark Andrews has logged nearly as many yards and more touchdowns as Zach Ertz last year despite 24 fewer passes. The tight game is Lamar Jackson’s favorite target, and is expected to increase its use in the Baltimore Ravens scheme. The opposite will be true for Darren Waller, as the Raiders added rookies Henry Ruggs III and Bryan Edwards to this year’s draft.

Sofa

Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals. Not private: Murray is a talented young player who has noticed that his passing game stepped forward with the arrival of DeAndre Hopkins. He also has the ability to accumulate problems with his legs, and his QB7 finale in 2019 was impressive for a freshman.

However, Hopkins’ arrival has higher expectations of Murray and his value of ordering in elegant drafts. The value of Murray’s requests dropped a little, however, he is at the start of the sixth inning as the fifth quarterback on the board. In this ADP, Murray has to explode just to justify his place in the draft.

Selecting players to the limit is not the way winning groups are built.

Dunne

Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings. They just don’t plan to win in the air. The Vikings need to run, run and run like they did in 1965. And, oh, Stefon Diggs is gone.

Gagnon

Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills. He still has a lot to prove, and I’m afraid he can shoot Mitchell Trubisky in his third season.

Meunier

Wounded: Matthew Stafford, Ben Roethlisberger and Cam Newton. I can communicate to myself about those situations, but the threat is too wonderful for them as anything more than betting in depth. The fantastic 2020 advertiser harvest is too busy to waste a selection on an injured quarterback.

Sobleski

Don’t be fooled during Ryan Tannehill’s race year. Yes, the Tennessee Titans quarterback led the league in yards consistent with pass attempt (9.6) and quarterback (117.5) last season. At the same time, those numbers necessarily translate well into fantasy football, as it finished in 25 yards consistent with passes consistent with the game (228.5).

In addition, he is expected to return later at a time never noticed in his career.

Sofa

With the release of Derrius Guice after his domestic violence arrest, the Washington backfield is in disarray. Veteran Adrian Peterson will probably open the season as a starter, but his most productive days are far from him. The transmission task turns out to be that of rookie Antonio Gibson to lose, but the lack of OTA and the pre-season do him no favor.

Then, sophomore Bryce Love, who missed his rookie season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

There is no guarantee that Love will be applicable to fantasy in 2020. But it probably doesn’t charge much on draft day. Love would have inspired the driving range, and we’re talking about a player who ran for more than 2,100 yards and averaged more than 8 yards consistent with the Stanford race in 2017.

Dunne

Zack Moss in Buffalo is super intriguing. The Bills have rebuilt their offensive line and need the ball to complete this top five defense. While Devin Singletary may be ready for an escape season, there is an explanation as to why the team selected Moss in the third round. Buffalo will eventually use it.

Gagnon

A.D. Dillon of the Green Bay Packers. Despite the range, the team saw enough of him to catch him in the round. No one expects to come back in 2020.

Meunier

Easy answer! Zack Moss is my boy in later rounds. The strength chart of the Bills’ runners is far from settled and can be won through young Moss over second-year runner Devin Singletary, who did not look extraordinary in 2019. Moss is a star of the University of Utah and has a tough taste that matches head coach Sean McDermott needs offensively.

Sobleski

Joshua Kelley of the Los Angeles Chargers. Austin Ekeler enters the climax after Melvin Gordon III entered a flexible agency, however, the concept that kelley’s new Chargers feature is back “Ekelered” is achievable. The rookie brings another established skill as an indoor runner with the strength to play through attempts.

At worst, the fourth-round selection deserves to be a perfect wife in a formula that included two sides a year ago.

Sofa

There are some 100s executives who have a weekly headline backwards, whether it’s a guy with a very high roof like Mecole Hardman of the Kansas City Chiefs or a high-end PPR option like New York’s Jamison Crowder. Jets.

Still, Christian Kirk of the Arizona Cardinals may be the best. Kirk showed a genuine skill in his season at the time in 2019, and with DeAndre Hopkins now in the desert, Kirk will see an exclusive canopy regularly.

This is a promising WR3 that can be purchased to load a low-end WR4.

Dunne

I know the Cardinals have added DeAndre Hopkins, and it’s DeAndre Freakin’ Hopkins, yet there will be a lot to do in head coach Kliff Kingsbury’s offense. Christian Kirk can play, too. You’ll see your role grow. With so much attention paid to Hopkins, you have to think that Kirk will get advantageous games.

Gagnon

Allen Lazard of the Packers. You can tell Aaron Rodgers likes him and may be the second choice in the passing game all year round. I’m expecting an escape season.

Meunier

Mecole Hardman is juicy outdoors, the hundred most sensible right now, especially if your league gives you problems with back yards and touchdowns. Hardman an All-Pro skill last year and you’ll see more replays and goals than the future WR2 in Kansas City.

Sobleski

Anthony Miller of the Chicago Bears has shown that potential becomes a remarkable target, but injuries and poor play as a quarterback have slowed him down. The 2018 second-round selection is an exceptional field capable of creating a separation. It also does its highest productivity outdoors in the slot machine.

If Nick Foles, however, wins the Bears’ starting quarterback position, it will only increase Miller’s value. Foles loves to target its slot receivers.

Sofa

There are some two-headed backfields with rookie fullbacks (Indianapolis, Baltimore) that can produce stars if teens take over. But I’ll stay with genuine handcuffs on the back: insurance policies for high-level options.

If he reverses a first-round pick at Dalvin Cook of the Minnesota Vikings (and his skill problems to sustain), it would be nice if he returned later by Alexander Mattison. The sophomore averaged 4.6 yards consistent with pop in his 100 careers as a rookie, demonstrating the ability to carry the load if a Vikings team whose offense crosses the floor game.

Dunne

A.D. Dillon of the Packers. My god. The man is like the Hulk. Head coach Matt LaFleur selected the 6’0″ and 247-pound ball carrier with a plan in mind, no doubt.

Gagnon

Mattison. Does anyone agree to stay healthy with Dalvin Cook as a truth? If you need to use a first choice at Cook, you must sacrifice some other semi-premium variety at Mattison, who averages 4.6 yards consistent with the rookie race in 2019.

Meunier

Alexander Mattison with the Minnesota Vikings. With Dalvin Cook last year, we saw that Mattison could step in and play a vital role. If Cook’s injuries come back, Mattison will be the ones the Vikings will have to depend on.

Sobleski

Which of the projected wives is probably the maximum maximum for a full-time beginner? Jonathan Taylor of the Indianapolis Colts. While Kareem Hunt is valuable, it doesn’t update Nick Chubb in the Cleveland Browns. Joshua Kelley of the Chargers is a clever variety of black horses that burst onto the scene. But the Colts have a backfield loaded with several ball carriers that can contribute.

That said, Taylor is the group’s top talented and surpasses Marlon Mack in no time.

Sofa

Of the top 15 off-board receivers in 2020, the one I’m least interested in is Amari Cooper of the Dallas Cowboys.

Is Cooper a talented player in a tough attack who will infrequently demonstrate eye-catching stat lines? Yes, yes and yes. But their differences on the road are as smart as his home’s stats, it is known to disappear infrequently and was oversized and surpassed by drummer Michael Gallup last year.

Given their respective ADP (38.3 vs. 79.5), Gallup is the most sensible fantasy value.

Dunne

Stefon Diggs, in theory, is precisely what expenses need, right? A big risk for what could be the toughest arm in the NFL. But Josh Allen was also the worst deep-ball pitcher last season, according to Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus. It’s hard to see Diggs match what he did in Minnesota in Buffalo.

Gagnon

DeAndre Hopkins of the Arizona Cardinals. You never know what to expect with a stage replacement, and this offense is guaranteed to be productive. What if Kyler Murray had a convulsive moment?

Meunier

DeAndre Hopkins is an elite catcher, however, he is now raping Larry Fitzgerald, Christian Kirk, Kenyan Drake and a lot of young talent. Although Nuk may still be a WR1, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw his goals drop and catches contemplating what’s around him.

Sobleski

Too many people think that The Pittsburgh Steelers’ JuJu Smith-Schuster will return to the player he was in 2018, when Ben Roethlisberger was healthy and the open receiver put in 111 passes for 1,426 yards and seven touchdowns. Of course, your numbers will almost in fact be compared to last season’s 42/552/3 bar, however, any projection involving a return to top-level production does not take into account two factors.

First, the defenses covered Antonio Brown’s ’18 campaign. Second, Diontae Johnson has become a rookie and can borrow many goals as Smith-Schuster did.

Sofa

One of the most common mistakes I see being made through casual Fantasy football players is to unnecessarily invest a first-round selection in the quarterback position.

It can be argued to invest in an elite fantasy quarterback like Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs. But the score difference between Quarterback No. five and Quarterback No. 10 was about two fantasy issues consistent with last year’s game. This negligible difference does not assess the nearly 3 rounds of ADP between those two slots in 2020.

The quarterback’s price this season lies in patience. There are players, like Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions, in the outdoor draft the 10 most sensitive in the position that have prospects in the five most sensitive.

Dunne

Enter a league that includes kickers. Please, all commissioners, update your kicker with a flex. It’s a lot more fun.

Gagnon

Writing an alternate quarterback. There are so many on the cable, and you might just want a week of replacement. Don’t waste a beak like that.

Meunier

Too many editors panic and look for shifts. As stated above, QB’s ability is incredibly deep (especially in a 10-person league) and can be expected. If you don’t get Lamar Jackson or Patrick Mahomes early, don’t rush to buy a Drew Brees or a Tom Brady. Be patient, even use the exemption thread to your merit here. I won my league with Ryan Tannehill last year after a move like that.

Sobleski

Don’t invest enough in the quarterback position. Depending on the league configuration, a quality quarterback can make a difference. Even in typical leagues, they tend to be the biggest problem producers. Yes, the gap between the most productive topics and the others in the middle of the package is not very large.

But the shortage of positions provides an advantage to those who greatly appreciate quarterbacks. How? Injuries occur. A player who has more than one quality quarterback on their roster can use that additional investment to earn valuable assets in a transaction. Play the long game, and this can help your entire list.

Sofa

The simple answer turns out to be the recruits. Zoom meetings and padless workouts do not replace live action. And while the pre-season is a lot of fun to watch as a fan, newcomers can use those in-game reps.

You can enlarge that for veterans of groups who have gone through many upheavals during the off-season, whether it’s worker body adjustments or training adjustments.

It’s hard to believe that groups like the New Orleans Saints, which had a continuity in the off-season, will be sharper at the start of the crusade than a team like the Carolina Panthers, who deploy a new training staff under Matt Rhule and a new quarterback. at Teddy Bridgewater.

Dunne

Maybe Cam Newton. The pre-season is terrible for a myriad of reasons, and let’s hope it stays out forever. But Newton may have used a handful of replays in a new offense, if not anything else, to get rid of the rust of having wasted so much time last season.

Gagnon

Every recruit. It’s just reality. There is more threat when we haven’t noticed any in a game that is opposite to other NFL players.

Meunier

Rookie runner. The fact that we see recruits in the box is negative for their value, but it also affects their ability to acclimatize and get valuable pre-season representatives where they can show their hands and pass coverage skills.

Sobleski

Any quarterback, midfield or open receiver who plays behind/along a porous offensive line. Lack of preparation time, padded education and preparatory parties will hamper those who do not have five previously established.

Look to invest in artists with strong offensive lines. Groups that have overlooked the position are not wise games, because it takes time for those wonderful players to freeze and put the whole offense on a roll.
