FC Barcelona officially announces the arrival of a new player

FC Barcelona officially announced the incorporation of a new player who was on loan last season.

“FC Barcelona has reached an agreement with Los Angeles FC for the loan of the player Mamadou Mbacke Fall, who will sign a two-year contract, until June 30, 2026, with the option to extend it for two more years,” began a message posted Monday night.

The Senegalese centre-back has already played a season at Barça Atlètic on loan from the American team.

“The act of signing the contract will be pending,” the correspondence adds.

As already mentioned, Mbacke played for the Barça reserve team, Barça Atletic, last season and was praised for being a “centreback who stands out for his excellence in the aerial game. “

At the end of last season, after a strong crusade against former Barca Atletic coach Rafa Marquez, Mundo Deportivo reported that talks were on track to buy Mbacke for $4 million plus incentives.

There were also rumours that Mbacke could be promoted to the first team or at least work out with him alongside compatriot Mika Faye, so many other people were surprised when Mbacke announced his departure from Instagram late last month.

“Hello Culers, this has not yet been an adventure of sharing reports as a teammate and as a fan,” Mbacke wrote in Catalan and French, at the bottom of his farewell message.

“My purpose in coming here is to take Barça to where they want to be, but it is not the resolution of Almighty God.

“I am satisfied and very satisfied to be part of you, I enjoyed every step. I just need to thank you all, it was just a short trip,” signed Mbacke.

However, on 8 July, SPORT reported that Barça had reached a “full agreement” to buy Mbacke, with the acquisition already completed a fortnight later.

He is now a permanent member of the Barca Atletic squad, but it cannot yet be ruled out that the club will eventually be looking to sell Mbacke if the right offer comes to him in the recently opened summer transfer window.
