Clubs must release their players for their service in the September foreign window if that means a quarantine period.
FIFA revised its rules of procedure after consultation with UEFA, whose member federations are interested in foreign friendly and League of Nations matches next month.
With the COVID-19 crisis that continues to affect daily life around the world, the football governing framework has brought transitional measures to help reduce the threat to players’ physical condition and affect clubs.
Thus, clubs will have to free their players to set up their country if it is a mandatory era of self-deissing for at least five days.
This applies to the era of quarantine taking place in the country of origin or arrival.
“Given the recent progression of the coronavirus pandemic, the FIFA Council Office has unanimously adapted the rules on the release of players in the next foreign window in September, which will only be played through UEFA member federations,” a statement said.
“The pandemic is becoming worldwide and many national governments have implemented travel and immigration restrictions due to an additional build-up of COVID-19 infections.
“Some of these measures have a direct effect on foreign competition, such as mandatory periods of quarantine or self-cleaning and travel restrictions.
Accordingly, in order to make some respect for the well-being and fitness of all those involved in foreign competitions, the FIFA Council Office, after consultation with UEFA, has established general regulations that generally require clubs to publish players for the national team Matches deserve not to apply in the following cases. :
In addition, all participants in foreign window matches will have to comply with the fitness and protection protocols established through the corresponding festival organizer.”
The revised measures from 31 August to 8 September for men and from 14 to 22 September for women.
