Lille’s Canadian striker’s agent Jonathan David was recently in Milan, where he held talks with Inter Milan and AC Milan.
According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, he indicated on his Twitter account that the 24-year-old could leave Lille this summer and that the Nerazzurri and Rossoneri are among his admirers.
David is lately in his fourth season at Lille.
The Canadian joined Ligue 1 in the summer of 2020 and left Belgian club Ghent.
In David’s first season at Lille, they won a surprise title in the French championship ahead of Paris Saint-Germain.
On an individual level, however, it is far from David’s most impressive season with Lille.
On the contrary, the Canadiens have been advancing season after season in terms of goals.
Last season was David’s most prolific with Lille to date. He scored 26 goals in all competitions this season.
And this time, the 24-year-old could well surpass that amount. He has scored 23 goals throughout the season lately, with only a few weeks to go.
David’s contract with Lille expires at the end of June 2025.
Therefore, if the French side need to capitalise on their prolific striker, this summer proves to be the last chance to do so.
As such, a summer movement seems to be in play.
And it’s possible that David will move to Serie A.
Italian journalist Schira reports that the 24-year-old’s agent was recently in Milan. The aim of his stopover is to talk to Inter and Milan, according to Schira.
It remains to be noted that both sides would be willing to make the move for David.
But the Canadian has been a target for Inter in the past, while Milan have explored him recently.
