Tottenham are in complex talks with AC Milan for a resolution through former Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori.
One source has told Sky Sports News that the England international is yet to agree to the move.
The Spurs seek to climb a defender before the deadline for 11 p. m. Monday, and the year 27 years old is one of the many that the club examines.
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou said on Friday Cristian Romero is still a few weeks away, while fellow centre-back Radu Dragusin picked up an injury in Thursday’s Europa League home win over Elfsborg.
Postecoglou’s defence has been severely hindered by injuries throughout the current campaign.
Speaking about the physical condition of his back 4 before the next opposite to Brentford, live in Sky Sports this Sunday, Postcoglou said: “I’m not sure, we will let it establish and get more data this weekend.
“In terms of others, Djed Spence must be had for the weekend, Sergio Reguilon will be fine.
“Every time I see the soft at the end of the tunnel, it turns out to be an exercise in the opposite direction. “
On other players in the squad, the Spurs boss added: “They’re all around 10 days’ time, Vic [Guglielmo Vicario], [Brennan] Johnson, Destiny [Udogie], Wilson [Odobert], Timo [Werner]. [Cristian] Romero is a tricky one.
“There’s still work to do but all those guys, apart from Dom [Solanke], [who’s] a week behind, are all slated for the next week to 10 days.

“There have been early discussions and we’re not yet sure if it would be a permanent deal or a loan but Fikayo Tomori is one of a number of options Spurs are considering.
“Ange Postecoglou told our reporter Gary Cotterill at the Friday press convention that would be defenders.
“Radu Dragusin injured his knee on Thursday night, I don’t think Cristian Romero is apart from the return and Micky Van de Ven returned here Thursday, but the spurs no longer need that challenge with injuries on the back.
“There may be a prospective policy and if it is Tomori, it would be an intelligent blanket. “
Paul Merson of Sky Sports in the program:
“I think there will be a lot of teams after Tomori. Manchester United could do with him and Arsenal could as well. Arsenal have two centre-halves but you always say if one of them get injured, they’re right up against it.
“Tomori can make many groups and will be sought through many groups. One of them may also be Aston Villa, who have just won a truckload of cash from the Jhon Duran deal, a profit of £50 million. “
