Flamengo champions begin the 2020 crusade with the defeat of the house

RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) – Spanish coach Domenec Torrent got off to a bad start when his new club, Flamengo, was defeated 1-0 through Atlético Mineiro in the Brazilian league on Sunday.

Torrent, who joined the Serie A champions last month after a stint at the helm of New York City FC and a decade as Pep Guardiola’s assistant, saw his team lose to an unfortunate purpose of Filipe Luis on the first weekend of the new season.

In the middle of the first half, Guilherme Arana crossed from the left and the ball hit former Atletico Madrid’s leg and On Chelsea’s back and flew to the net.

The three problems were an unfortunate start for Torrent, but the best for Jorge Sampaoli, the Argentine who succeeded Atletico this year.

Flamengo won the Rio de Janeiro State Championship in July under the direction of Jorge Jesús, who left shortly thereafter to return to Benfica.
