Tennessee football bombed Alabama on Saturday, again.
The Vols (2-3) lost their third consecutive spot this season and the fourteenth consecutive against No. 2 from Alabama (5-0) with a 48-17 defeat.
Here are the loss notes consistent with the rash:
Jarrett Guarantano showed why he is Tennessee’s starting quarterback despite two brutal weeks against Georgia and Kentucky.
He threw three brilliant passes, two to Jalin Hyatt and one to Josh Palmer, adding two for touchdowns, he also made two big plays while running the ball, these flashes are, of course, what confuses Guarantano’s bad days. Tennessee challenged Saturday and has had more opportunities to pitch.
The spotlight was a four-game, 85-yard series that included a 48-yard home at Hyatt and a 27-yard landing on Palmer. Hyatt has been a breath of life with two receptions for 86 yards, the maximum yards through a Tennessee catcher in a game this season.
For the third game in a row, the Tennessee offensive gave the opposing defense a touchdown. Eric Gray made a loose ball from Tennessee in the middle of the moment. Malachi Moore of Alabama returned him for a 28-yard touchdown.
The average hasty attack despite a decent start; The flights averaged four yards consistent with the race in the first half.
Those of the 3rd verbal exchange persist: the flights went from four to 16.

Alabama has two aspiring Heismans: Quarterback Mac Jones and offensive lineman Najee Harris. If any win the prize, the ceremony’s flagship film will feature Tennessee T-shirts.
Jones pitched for 387 yards in 25 passes in 31 and had a touchdown. Harris ran for yards and three touchdowns.
The flights missed an absurd number of tackles, especially at Harris. They didn’t put much pressure on Jones after Jeremy Pruitt fired defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh and took over the task himself. internal receivers cannot be covered again.
Alabama totaled 587 yards despite Jaylen Waddle, the most exciting player in school football, sustaining an ankle injury on the kickoff.
The Vols forced a spin when Trevon Flowers hit a ball from Slade Bolden’s hands, but the attack was cut through 3 and the spin made no difference. Bryce Thompson also surrendered to an interception in the finish area that would have been overturned through a retention penalty for Jaylen McCollough; both sides of the game are brutal.
Grade: D-minus
A kick in the game seemed like a certainty for Tennessee opposed to Alabama. The flights jumped one in the third quarter 42-17, but the Vols were out of the game and they didn’t make the ball anyway.
Paxton Brooks had a tough week off Kentucky. He smart on Saturday, averaging more than forty-five yards consistent with kicking. Brent Cimaglia made his only attempt at placement.
Levels: B
Tennessee arrived in Alabama 15 at the time of the quarter, then threw a basket to shoot at 14-3. It was not the worst or maximum confusing resolution of UT coaches.
The flights run, sweep and run in all 3 games after getting a fumble at Alabama 48, then they introduced the fourth and 8, it didn’t make sense, neither of them made it run in the third and eighth with 30 seconds to play Before halftime. Instead, Alabama took a timeout, Tennessee kicked and Alabama had a chance to score before halftime.
Pruitt made a glorious comment before this season about crawling into fear, but on Saturday he verified that commentary.
Grade: D
Jalin Hyatt
The rookie has given the Tennessee offensive another size and sees a higher role in the future.
