Following… Full of the letter

As news and rumors continue to circulate about the possible cancellation of the school football season, a wave of revulsion over a season has been overwhelming and rapid.

School football players (including those in the state of Ohio) have not only accumulated with a #WeWantToPlay movement, but media members and other strong voices in the sports world have wondered why now?

And in Ohio State, even the players’ parents took action with a card to play this fall. Many parents of the students-athletes of the football team have turned to Twitter with a broad and unified voice for their children. He comes from the Ohio State Football Parents Association and expresses confidence in the tests and protocols implemented at the University.

It goes on to state a level of understood risk, but one to one of the most healthy groups in the country, and one the parents are willing to take.

Here is a copy of the shared letter on Twitter through Master Teague’s father, Dr. Corey M. Teague. The full transcript of the letter also appears on the next page.

Buckeye Nation and the sports community:

In reaction to the ongoing discussions about the 2020 school football season, to us, the Ohio State Football Parents Association, we would like to give our opinion on the situation.

We believe that the state of Ohio has established a popular place for school athletics in terms of protection and testing protocols to ensure the protection of players, coaches and staff.

The FPAOS strongly advocates for universal standards and protocols to be used across the entire conference that follow the leadership of Ohio State. Regular testing and surveillance according to best practices should be the norm for all players participating in fall sports. While we fully support any player that chooses to opt out of the season due to health concerns, this is a small percentage of the athletes.

As parents, we firmly believe that our children need to play next season and we are confident that college and training staff, as well as medical experts, have discovered a safe way for this to happen. We believe that this age organization represents some of the healthiest people, although we recognize that the threat cannot be eliminated, that the threat is minimal, and that the season can be carried out safely and guilty.

We respect our perspectives that would possibly not be shared with others across the country; However, as parents of Ohio State players, we made decisions through our sports branch in collaboration with medical staff to play the 2020 school football season.

Honestly, FPAOS BOARD
