The German mass-circulation newspaper Bild has placed a clock on its homepage indicating, through the second, how much time is left before the Bundesliga begins on 16 May. Clubs began education as a team after a time when they first trained before moving on to small groups.
The first team to move to their homes in the prescribed quarantine era was the Cologne, which checked into a hotel in the city centre on Thursday night. Sixteen other groups must register at their hotels this weekend to be virus-free next weekend. RB Leipzig has taken another path and will isolate itself from the outside world in the club’s academy.
And just a day later, the International Football Association Board (IFAB), the guardians of the game’s rules, approved a FIFA proposal to “protect the welfare of players.”
To avoid an accumulation in the interruption over the course of the match, “each team will have only 3 opportunities to make substitutions; substitutions can also be done at half-time,” FIFA said in pronouncing the change in the transitional rule.
This applies with immediate effect to all competitions scheduled to end on December 31.
