MADRID – The Real Society has hired former Manchester City midfielder David Silva as a loose agent, the La Liga team announced on Monday.
The 34-year-old former Spanish alien has left City after a decade of service in which he won 11 primary trophies and 4 Premier League titles.
The Manchester team had announced the previous Monday that it would honor the Spaniard by building a statue of him outdoors at his Etihad Stadium.
The Society, which finished sixth in La Liga, is one of the groups of the Spanish elite and was looking for a new game creator after Martin Odegaard finished a year on a transfer to return to Real Madrid. (Reporting through Richard Martin edited through Christian Radnedge)
