Football Enthusiasts: Eoghain No. 1 CSC Shot, Dungannon | football

Founded in 1988 after five local boys returned from the Centennial Cup final, to give other like-minded enthusiasts the opportunity to do so more regularly. Its members hail from Armagh and Tyrone.

The first assembly was held in July 1988 and was attended by many participants. Within 14 months, the number of members had grown to more than 80 people. His first official club was a defeat to Aberdeen.

They are in the INF, but for more than 20 years they were founded in Hagans Bar, Irish Street, Dungannon. In the 1990s, Tir Eoghain No. 1 CSC, like Celtic, had a lot of ups and downs.

The lowest of these occurred in the summer of 1996, when, on his way back from a party, one of its members was brutally murdered in a sectarian attack just a few hundred meters from his home. Interestingly, this case has not been solved to this day and not one has been brought to justice for this heinous crime.

This occasion and the effects presented through Celtic on the pitch meant that the CSC experienced a serious drop in interest and engagement, and for a time only a hard core travelled. The club continued to struggle and began to organise more and more day trips to see Celtic. .

It was one of those games where they had a chance to meet Joe McGratten. When Joe and a few other Belfast boys created the Eire Go Brach CSC, it seemed like a natural progression to come together and travel with a giant organisation of positive-minded Celtic supporters. Those quotes still exist today in the figure of Aiden Digney.

One of my greatest adventures took place in Seville. CSC was well represented at this glorious moment in Celtic’s history. They have also traveled extensively throughout Europe, with members in Amsterdam, Turin, Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester, and Lisbon, to name a few.

2008 saw the club’s 20th anniversary with the organisation of a charity gala dinner. As part of this milestone in its history, the club’s logo was reconsidered to better represent who and what the CSC stood for. The logo includes the Celtic Centenary Cross, Tir Eoghain’s Red Hand, O’Neill’s Castle, the Celtic Four-Leaf Clover and the European Cup.

“Gaelach agus Broduil” Irish and proud.

During the 2012 season, a series of events took place culminating in the 25th Anniversary Ball, which took place on May 25, 2013. This event brought together John Fallon and they had a reproduction of the European Cup, which was borrowed from them. through his friends at Lurgan No. 1 CSC. They celebrated their 35th anniversary in 2023. Every five years, the CSC hosts a charity dinner-dance. They have over a hundred members and an eight-man committee that organizes the season. rest of the membership.

They with Éire move on to Bragh CSC Belfast and Jim Greenan Monaghan CSC.
