Football legend Diego Maradona has died at his home in Tigre, announced the Argentine Football Association (AFA).
The former footballer and 60-year-old trainer died at home two weeks after leaving the hospital where he underwent a clot in his brain.
He’s said to have had a center attack.
The AFA said on Twitter: “The Argentine Football Federation, through its president Claudio Tapia, expresses its deepest regret at the death of our legend, Diego Armando Maradona. You will be in our hearts. “
Maradona, considered one of the most important footballers of all time, helped Argentina win the World Cup in 1986, at the height of his career and notoriously guilty for the touch of “Hand of God” that took England out of the tournament.
He also led the country to the 1990 World Cup final in Italy and took him to South Africa in 2010.
He played club football for Boca Juniors, Napoli and Barcelona, among others, and adored millions of people for his brilliant skills and speed on the field.

England Gareth Southgate spoke of the Argentine player’s “genius. “
