LONDON: Arsenal has reached permanent agreements with defensers Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares following their run-offs at the time of the 2019-20 campaign, the club announced on its online page on Monday.
Mari, 26, joined the Premier League in January after Flamengo, who helped win the name of Brazilian Serie A and copa Libertadores last year.
The Spanish midfielder played three times for Arsenal before his season ended with an ankle injury.
Portuguese side Soares, 28, who joined Southampton on a short-term loan, played five league games for Mikel Arteta’s team last season.
Arsenal has connected with Lille headquarters Gabriel Magalhaes through British media, as Arteta is looking for a more defensive striker in the league campaign, which begins on 12 September.
