MADRID – Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has no interest in bringing players in before the play window ends next week, he said Tuesday.
Madrid still looked like an ongoing draw in Saturday’s disjointed 3-2 win over Real Betis after winning their first game of the season 0-0 at Real Sociedad, but the Frenchman doesn’t think adding to his team is the solution.
“We already have a lot of players, why go up more?” Zidane said at a pre-match press conference on Wednesday at home against Real Valladolid.
“It’s already very difficult to choose a team, because all the players are very good, so why go up more? The market is open until October 5th, but I am very satisfied with what I have. This team is mine and for me, they’re the best.
Zidane will not feature German midfielder Toni Kroos as opposed to Valladolid and Sunday to the Levant, however, he said Eden Hazard is final in the return to action.
There have been doubts about Hazard’s weight, but Zidane has rejected any suggestion that the Belgian forward has an unprofessional attitude, putting his lack of effect on Real after going from a hundred million euros last year to two injuries from ankle.
‘I don’t think he’s a professional, he just has a very big challenge that’s bothered him for a long time. What we need is that you don’t feel any discomfort, so we have to wait,’ he added.
“It’s a long season and he needs to go back to the area with his teammates to play well and with us.
“He’s getting a lot closer, he trains with us regularly, gets in shape and he’s in a position to come back. “
Due to the renovation paintings at its Santiago Bernabeu stadium, Madrid continues to play house games in their field, where they won all six games at the end of last season (Report through Richard Martin, edited through Ed Osmond).
