Swedish football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic tested positive for COVID-19, the top high-level Serie A player to hire COVID-19 since the game resumed in Italy in June after a three-month break due to the pandemic.
AC Milan, 38, has been quarantined after the Norwegian team’s Pre-Europa League match against Bodo v Glimt on Thursday, the Italian club announced.
The announcement came a day after fellow Brazilian Leo Duarte also returned a test.
“All other team members and staff have tested negative,” the club said on their website.
The veteran striker, who had no symptoms, responded to the diagnosis in his inimitable style.
“COVID had the courage of me. Bad idea,” Ibrahimovic said on Twitter.

The 40-year campaign, which lasts 14 days, will set aside the striker of the Europa League qualifier against Bodo/Glimt and the upcoming Serie A matches against newcomers Crotone and Spezias.
Ibrahimovic, who will turn 39 next month, has scored 14 goals in 22 games since briefly returning to Milan in January, helping to revive his team.
He scored the new Season of Serie A in flavor on Monday by scoring twice in the 2-0 win over Bologna.
One of Europe’s top charismatic players, Ibrahimovic has already played for Dutch club Ajax, Italian clubs Juventus and Inter Milan, Spanish Barcelona, American club Los Angeles Galaxy, French Paris Saint-Germain, as English club Manchester United.
