Three University of Miami players were charged with an attack this month on an off-campus fraternity house.
Oxford police said they responded to reports of a giant fight at Theta Chi fraternity house on Bishop Street just before October 3.
Four of the fraternity members were hospitalized after between 25 and 30 men had to traverse the space and enter the garden to attack the members of the organization.
“(The attackers) nailed golf clubs to him and used them to hit fraternity members,” a police report said.
These clubs were discovered dirtying the courtyard of space the next morning.
Members of the fraternity reported to the police that Dimitri Mitsopoulos and Santiago Sandri, two of the defendants, had caused disorder in space last night and had to be crawled out of the compound, suspecting that the attack in retaliation for this according to a police report.
Mitsopoulos de Toledo on the RedHawks football team’s list as an open receiver, however, the page appears to have been removed from the website.
Miami officials said Sandri wasn’t related to the school.
Mitsopoulos is charged with trespassing, uproar and two counts of assault, all misdemeanors. An arrest warrant has been issued against Sandri for break-in.
The two football players charged in the incident are Terrell Rush, a defensive winger of St. Louis, and James Bomba, a closed final in Bloomington, Indiana. Rush and Bomb are still on the team’s online list.
Bomba is accused of attack and break-in. Rush is accused of handover.
All three are freshmans.
Police reports show that investigators at least one criminal attack and annoying break-in occurred during the incident, however, police have not yet described anyone with such crimes.
Miami officials issued Tuesday saying the 3 players are suspended from team activities and “remain suspended from the program indefinitely. “
The university has introduced its own research on what happened, he said.
“The University of Miami imposes the highest standards of conduct on its academics and will not tolerate violence,” he said. “Students who commit misconduct face disciplinary action of up and add suspension or dismissal. “
